Recently I visited a beautiful resort about 100 km from Chiang Mai. The owner is a naturopathic doctor who developed some amazing treatments for serious health challenges. He is committed to running a holistic spa and building a sustainable project. The food is healthy and clean, a lot of it grown on the resort’s own farm.  There is a steam sauna, two swimming ponds, beautiful grounds, horses, deer and other animals, and even a small golf course.

The resort has a beautiful room overlooking a scenic garden and pond. It is perfect for teaching one of my massage courses – Thai massage, Heavenly Head massage and Hypnotic Rocking massage. There are also many attractions nearby: a beautiful national park with several waterfalls, great hotsprings with lots of tubs for soaking and trails for hiking in a stunning environment.

There is also an elephant conservation camp nearby where you can watch elephants work and even learn to be a mahout. The quaint town near the resort has several attractions including a gorgeous temple. The setting is rural Thailand away from crowded tourist centers.

I was so impressed that I decided to set up a combination of  Thai massage teaching and a tour program in October of 2010.  The tour part will take in all the sights, temples, hot springs, elephant camps, rice fields, markets and lakes in the area. The resort itself offers many educational programs about sustainable development including a huge video and audio e-library. And I will teach a highly specialized Thai massage course with emphasis on healing applications.

I will soon follow up with more information and pictures. It looks like a fantastic opportunity to learn new massage skills and have a wonderful Thailand experience at the same time. Check my blog for new developments and leave a comment!
