My Story
This is a blog about Thailand.
It is a true insider story about living, loving, traveling and finding a new home in a beautiful country.
I wrote it for you, and here is what it can offer you:
♦ Fascinating stories and insights about living and traveling in Thailand which you won’t find in travel guides.
♦ The “Relationships in Thailand” article series is a real eye opener - you won’t be taken by surprise if you ever come here. Enter the sometimes strange world of cross-cultural relationships, even if only for the fun of reading about it.
♦ You will find many great pictures, candid shots, and videos of colorful festivals, life, travel and scenery in Thailand.
♦ You will never be taken by surprise or experience culture shock when you visit Thailand because you know the inside story from someone who has lived here for many years.
♦ You will learn the real story about Thai massage, Thailand’s unique healing massage system: how to find and evaluate good therapists, how to experience great massages and avoid not-so-good ones, how to understand the benefits of Thai massage, and even how to learn it – without ever visiting Thailand.
♦ You will find stories that touch your heart, tickle your travel bone, open up a new world of thinking and living, and put a smile on your face.
♦ Need more information on any Thailand topic: get in touch with me.
If you just wanted to know what this blog is all about, you can stop reading here. But if you are curious who is behind it (hint: the fellow in the picture above), then you might as well read on.
Who is Shama?
Shama wears many hats: the one with the halo around it is his incarnation as Thai massage therapist and teacher. He really does know how to make others feel good! Check out some testimonials.
The hat with the wide brim and the camera bag around the shoulder is his incarnation as a photo and video aficionado. Luckily Thailand provides countless great Kodak moments.
Shama usually takes his hat off when he surrounds himself with computers and monitors to make all the great stories and pictures and videos available to you!
Last but not least, he has the sharp eyes of a long-time tour director: where are all the cool spots, the scenic waterfalls, rustic hotsprings, great vistas, and entertaining events. Look for some great stories and videos to come!
Where is Shama?
He got hooked on Thailand a long time ago. He fell in love with all the gentle, smiling and friendly people (and in particular one of them), and now he does not want to leave anymore. Look for him in Chiang Mai, the greatest city in Thailand. Want to know what he is up to? Read the blog!
How did Shama end up in Thailand?
It was the Thai massage. Where else in the world can you get a great massage for five or six dollars an hour? The truth is Shama is pretty darn good at giving massages himself. Good enough that lots of people came from all over the world to learn from him. So now he put it all on video and you can learn it too! But now the airlines blacklisted him because all his students can simply download the Thai massage course over the internet and they don’t need to fly to Thailand anymore. Just kidding.
Shama has a whole bunch of tricks in his bag. He figured out that touching feels great and it makes people feel better and it helps them. So he studied all kinds of far out Asian healing magic like Thai Massage, Shiatsu, Medical Qigong and Chi Nei Tsang Abdominal Massage. And if that was not enough, he came up with his own, super cool massage modalities, Thai Rocking Massage and Heavenly Head Massage. It feels as good as it sounds, really. Check it out!
In one of his recent incarnations (pre-Thailand) Shama was stomping around the planet for ten years as an international tour director and organizer. It comes in handy now since everybody and their uncle are bugging Shama about some cool Thailand info and some neat places to visit and hang out.
